In the footsteps of M.Leopold Wagner

a group and self guided cycle tour in Sardinia

Languages and Words: each language is a code... each culture has its own language. This is an itinerating tour to discover Sardinian culture and nature through breathtaking sceneries in the footsteps of an ancient wanderer: Max Leopold Wagner, one of the most relevant romanists of the 19th century and, most of all, the most important language scientist specialized in the Sardinian idiom. It was November 1904 when the young Bavarian scientist came to Sardinia, aiming to deepen his knowledge of the language and culture of this enchanting is land and to complete writing his final thesis. Wagner wandered around the whole Island, mostly by bike. This beautiful tour will follow his footsteps along the places he visited. It will be an unforgettable week, pedalling along quiet roads, immersed in a unique and wild nature, in touch with the history and culture of Sardinia.
