DOLOMITES
CROSS COUNTRY SAFARI
cross country ski holiday from Sesto / Sexten to
Dobbiaco/Toblach
This cross country ski route takes you from the imposing Sexten Dolomite
mountains to the cross country centre in Dobbiaco / Toblach, the stronghold of
Italian cross country skiing. Moving through the winter countryside, you will
pass Lake Toblach, and continue along the former railway track of the
Dolomites into the Höhlenstein Valley / Val di Landro at the foot of the
“Drei Zinnen” (Three Peaks / Tre Cime). By taking a short sidetrack
through the Prags Valley (Val di Braies) you can reach Lake “Prags Wildsee”,
another breathtaking scenic backdrop of immense natural magnificence to be
found in this area. After that, a further highlight to be discovered along
this cross country route is the mountain pastures of Platzwiese (Piazza Prato)
with their glorious panorama of the surrounding mountain summits. The day's
skiing begins from the doorstep of the hotel, eliminating any need for
supplementary transport.
